This is a GOOD Quality Particulate Filter that can be used for general purpose situations. Designed to filter out 95% of particulates (sized 0.3 microns and larger).
Useful when you are looking for protection from the larger particulates that are floating in the air after a disaster strikes; (e.g. sheet rock dust, insulation, dust, molds, etc.)
Offers some protection from biological contaminants like certain types of the flu and some other air-borne diseases. These particulate filters are often seen being used in doctor offices and hospitals.
Important to note that this filter does not offer protection from: chemicals, gases or vapors.
These are some of the cheapest (based on $ Price - not Quality) respirators in the marketplace. They are inexpensive enough that it would be a good idea to pick up a box of 20 and just place a few around the house, office and inside the cars.
Another Note: You should really get these particulate respirators before a disaster event happens. They are one of the first things to fly off of the store shelves - immediately following the event. Be proactive and get them now.
